Retd injuries are not the same thing as regular injuries. Sometimes, the player can return to the field. This is the case for Ashwin and Pollard as well as Mushfiqur and Pollard. In these cases, the batter may resume his innings later in a game.
Ashwin
Many IPL fans were stunned when Ashwin was allowed to leave in the 19th match of the IPL. He had just been involved with Shimron and was now running back to the dressing room. Ashwin was badly hurt and the on-air commentators had no choice but to confirm this. After being hit by Avesh Khan's delivery he retired.
The decision by Ashwin has been questioned. Many felt Ashwin should have stayed away from the match, but there were some instances where he abused the batting substitution rule. Riyan Parag will be playing Ashwin's place. It has become a matter of contention.
Mushfiqur
Mushfiqur Rahim, who has been playing in T20I cricket for more than a decade, has decided to quit the format. He took this decision after he failed in the Asia Cup 2022. His childhood coach claimed that he was trying too hard in the nets to adjust to T20 cricket and also was testing his character to make his T20 career a success.
Mushfiqur was the first player to make his Bangladesh debut in 2005. He is Bangladesh's most experienced player with more than a thousand runs in Test cricket. He began as a lower-middle order batter, but quickly stepped up to a wicketkeeper role. It took him 20 tests to reach the thousand run milestone. He was appointed captain in 2011, and has now completed 3515 Test runs. He has also run 6697 ODI matches and 1495 in T20Is.
Pollard
After their two opening ODI games, the West Indies need to win. With only two games left, the visitors are in a strong position to win after their first innings batting collapse. The defending champions have lost both of their previous games. It's crucial that they win the remaining two. Both sides lost the first innings in disarray.
Despite the confusion following Pollard's exit from field, Pollard was able return to the game and complete the game. Pollard was unable to take the field as West Indies bowled out in the final over, and this has caused some speculation about his health. Even though he didn’t appear in any pain, it seemed like he was still suffering from an injury.
Imam-ul-Haq
Pakistan all-rounder Imam-ul-Haq was admitted to hospital after suffering a suspected elbow injury in their fourth ODI match against England. Imam, despite being in excellent form lately, was a major casualty during the fourth ODI. As a precaution, Imam has been taken for x-rays.
Babar Azm replaced Imam-ul-Haq following his 13th over injury. The Pakistani team were chasing 210 to level the series. Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman played brilliant knocks as Pakistan regained the initiative and levelled the series.
Babul Supriyo
Retired Army officer Babul Supriyo suffered injuries in a motorbike accident close to Delhi's Cantonment. The accident occurred as he was driving to the airport to collect his daughter. His motorcycle lost its control and collided against the SUV's rear. He suffered injuries to his left elbow, and the chest wall. He was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre by security personnel. He was declared stable upon arrival.
In July, the BJP removed Supriyo's name from its cabinet. Later, he joined Trinamool Congress. Babul was elected the party's candidate for the Ballygunge Assembly byelection. Under the saffron party, he did well in the cabinet. He won elections twice. Supriyo, retd, said he was hurt by the decision to leave the government.
