The record of 400 runs per Test match remains unbroken. It is possible for a batsman to score more than 400 runs during a single Test. Brian Lara was captain of West Indies at that time. The Recreation Ground was the venue for the fourth Test against England. He has some very pleasant memories there.

He made his Test debut against England on 30 June 1930. He was an early success. His successes against England and Australia were continued in the next years.

George Headly's 223 run in Mohalla on 13 November 1929 gave West Indies victory in their first Test series against England. Headley scored 270 in eight hours of strokeplay, including 30 fours of the highest quality. The win was decisive for the Caribbeans, who won this series for the first-time.

David Warner set a new record at Adelaide Oval by breaking the record for the most runs in an innings. Also, he silenced critics scoring 335 runs. The Australian opener previously scored 333 runs during a Test against Sri Lanka. Warner's innings was not the most important, however, Rohit Sharma was also chosen to break the record, hitting a triple ton. He scored his maiden triple-ton in five-day Cricket. Despite being reduced to 96/6 by the West Indies in the second innings, the West Indies won the Test by 10 wickets.
Pakistan's 589/3 at the start of the innings
Australia posted a huge total of 589 runs in their first innings. This was largely due to David Warner's triple-ton. Australia won by an innings, 48 runs. Mitchell Starc took six wickets for Australia, and the Australian bowlers had complete control over Pakistan's batting order. Babar Azam scored 97 runs while Yasir Khan scored 113 runs. But it wasn't enough for the team to withstand the Australian attack.
