The meaning of some terms may be confusing if you're new to the game. These terms include LBW and Leg-beforewicket, Off-side, Nigga and Leg-beforewicket. These terms will help to better understand the game and make it easier for you to play.

LBW

Leg Before Wicket, or LBW, is a way to dismiss a batsman. This method of dismissal is decided by the On-field Umpire and Third Umpire. The fielding team can appeal. For a decision to be deemed Leg Before Wicket, the ball must have hit the batsman's leg before hitting his stumps. It must be pitched along the stump line.

The point at which the ball hits the batsman must be the point of impact. This applies regardless of whether or not the ball lands on the batsman's off stump. LBW is a tough decision. However, the umpire must ensure that the batsman intended for the ball to be played. This rule may be interpreted differently by the umpire, but the majority of the time the umpire is in the batsman’s favor.

Leg-before-wicket

Leg-before-wicket is a form of dismissal in cricket. When a batsman's leg is in front of the wicket, he is declared out. The ball must hit the wicket or bounce off his body in order for it to be ruled LBW. It is one the most difficult situations in cricket.

A batsman has the right to challenge a leg before wickett decision in a one-day or test match. He has 30 seconds to challenge the decision and can ask for help from his teammate. A cricket video analyst can be present to detect potential leg-beforewickets and give signals should the batsman wish to appeal.

Nigga

"Nigega" is a racial slur that targets people of dark skin. It is derived from the Latin adjective "niger". The word originally meant to describe black people. Today, however, the term is used to denote a variety of people with a wide range of skin colors.

Off-side

An offside is the area where a team of cricket players plays. It is one of the most important aspects of the game. A cricket team that plays on an off-side is likely to be successful. However, it is important to understand what the term actually means before trying to play on the side.

For referring the to the field divisions of a cricket match, it is common to use the terms off-side or leg side. Captains use them to communicate important events in a match and to identify specific positions on the field. These words are often used to describe particular fielding positions, and can be combined with terms such as "leggully" and "long away".

Leg-before-pitching

An umpire makes a leg-before-pitching decision (LBW), when a batsman blocks a pitch that has the possibility of hitting the stumps. In making this decision, an umpire must consider three factors. The umpire considers three factors when making this decision. First, the batter must have the majority of the ball in front his legs at the moment the ball hits his stumps. To qualify as a leg before-pitching (LBW), the ball must reach the ground beyond the line of his leg stumps. The batsman can't attempt a shot if the ball is pitched beyond his stumps.

The umpire must raise his finger when deciding whether the ball was pitched beyond the stump. The umpire must raise his finger when the ball pitches on the stumps or strikes the batter's pads, but it cannot be outside the line of the off stump or the leg stump. As this will impact the decision, the umpire must also consider the ball's bounce. Pitch conditions are also important as some pitches can be faster or more difficult than others.
